The latest reports of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus in schools:

-- A student at Centenary College was treated for a staph infection and released Oct. 20.

-- Two students were sent home from Bangor Area School District classes Oct. 25 when one of them told a school nurse she lives with a family member with a staph infection.

-- Paxinosa Elementary School officials sent a letter home Oct. 31 notifying parents that a student was infected with MRSA. The boy returned to school in early November, and officials said he presented no health risks.

-- Phillipsburg Middle School officials learned Wednesday that a student tested positive for MRSA.

-- A student was diagnosed with MRSA at the Readington Middle School this week. School officials said the student has not missed any classes.

The Bangor Area School District will host a MRSA educational program for the community at the Bangor Area High School Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
